Thank you for your interest in the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund: Express Program, administered by Commonwealth Corporation.

You will need the following information to submit this Express grant application:

  • Your organization's Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)
  • A Certificate of Good Standing from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue with a "Notice Date" within the last six months
  • Course information from our Express Course Directory for all courses
  • Contact information for the individual authorized to sign a grant contract on behalf of the applicant organization
  • Current # of Employees Working in Massachusetts (both part-time and full-time employees)
  • Training Start Date(s) for each course (must be at least 3 weeks after an application is submitted)

Express Grant Approval Criteria
In order to have your request for Express Program funding approved, you must meet ALL of the following criteria. Please confirm that each of the following statements is true before proceeding. If any of the statements are not true, under penalty of perjury and subject to audit, you are not eligible to apply. 
  1. The total amount of funding requested, within this calendar year for all Express Program funding requests combined, does not exceed $30,000.
  2. The amount of funding requested per trainee, per course does not exceed $3,000.
  3. The applicant agrees to pay for at least half of the total cost of the approved training.
  4. All of the employees to be trained using grant funding are payroll employees who work in Massachusetts.
  5. The proposed training is job-related skills training.
  6. The company is not legally mandated to provide the proposed training to employees.
  7. The Express Grant Agreement start date selected, and the start of training, is at least 21 days from the date of submission
